In the early 80's, Mr. Chan was working as an electrical engineer for Boeing Aircraft when he suddenly found himself without a job. Knwoing that he had to provide for his family, he tried to come up with a new way to make a living. Soe he started selling toy vehicles out of a gift shop located in a downtown bus terminal. This may sound unusual, but it worked. He became so successful that he decided to start his own company, C.J. Marketing in 1985.

In 1988, he incorporated his business and started selling household decorative items. His ocmpany sells and markets its products at major trade shows and retailers across the country including The Canadian Home Furnishing Market, The Canadian Gift and Tableware Show, Loblaws, No Frills and Home Hardware.

C.J. Marketing started with two employees and now employs more than eighty-five (85) people. Mr. Chan's business group is structured into three companies and operates out of two industrial buildings with over eighty-thousand (80,000) square feet of space. The company feautres a six-thousand (6,000) square-foot showroom area to display products manufactured in China.

C.J. Marketing also supports major charitable organizations and has won several awards as top supplier to many major retailers. Mr. Chan has even been invited by the governments of Mexico and Indonesia to speak about the how-to's of exporting products.
